AUTUMN LOCHAN

A small contemporary Scottish Impressionist painting of a remote tranquil lochan or small lake in the wild highlands of Scotland in autumn
In this small study have tried to portray the atmosphere of a typical highland day spent fishing for trout beside one of these small lochs, with its changeable light on the heather and bracken. Painted in muted autumnal ochre colours, with a touch of magenta for the heather with the cooler blue tones of the distant rugged mountains in the distance.
